The use of LED technology in the theatrical and operatic context represents a revolution that blends tradition and innovation. These devices not only offer exceptional brightness and infinite chromatic variety, but also allow precise and dynamic control of lighting, adapting with versatility to both small-scale productions and large-scale international works.

Light, in theater and opera, becomes the means through which the director and artistic director can tell stories, evoke sensations, and transport the audience to distant worlds. From intimate and intimate theaters to large outdoor arenas, LED lighting systems allow you to create spectacular effects, plays of shadows and lights that underline the emotional intensity of performances, while maintaining a reduced ecological impact.

A look to the future and a constant dialogue with the past: the new production of Giuseppe Verdi's AIDA inaugurated the hundredth edition of the Arena di Verona Opera Festival. Transparent pyramids and light architectures have been integrated into the spaces of the Roman amphitheatre, evoking a technological but at the same time intimate and recognizable AIDA. The direction was entrusted to the multifaceted artist Stefano Poda, making his debut at the Arena.

Hikari, a "custom made" specialist in the lighting sector, was tasked with developing a technical solution capable of satisfying the needs of the Direction and the Foundation. The project strictly respected the monumental constraints, minimizing disturbances and maximizing the visual effect for video shooting. After careful analysis and evaluation, Hikari identified the ideal solution. The facility exceeded expectations, allowing the shows to take place without technical problems. Describing his work on direction, sets, costumes, lights and choreography, Poda commented: "The public will find themselves faced with a large installation: the modern is not a chase for current events, but a leap into the future. The heritage of Ancient Egypt becomes that of Verdi's genius, transformed into an all-Italian treasure represented in a secular cathedral, a sacred and millenary place ready to gather all the best energies of Italy".

The lighting of the amphitheater steps, conceived by the director Stefano Poda, found in the technological solution created and supplied by Hikari the ideal complement for the representation of this opera, enhancing the imposing internal structure of the Verona Arena and underlining in some scenes the visual and emotional impact. It could only be the most performed and loved work by the public to open the centenary of the festival. Poda's poetic vision has returned a highly innovative AIDA compared to the traditional stagings in the Veronese amphitheater. "The stage will be a small universe full of a thousand experiences – commented the director – it will be technological, dynamic, changing, surprising... but at the same time the ambition is to develop a recognisable, familiar, human-scale journey: a Dante's journey, from a world in conflict to an intimate story. Reconciling these two sides, grandeur and intimacy, is the challenge in tackling a title like AIDA."
