The company

HIKARI, the Japanese word for "light", embodies our identity as an innovative lighting company, founded in Italy in 2006 inspired by Solid State technology, born in the late 1990s by Nobel Prize winner Eng. Nakamura.

The synergy between technological innovation and Made in Italy has positioned HIKARI among the first national companies to offer excellent lighting solutions, in response to the rapid evolution of the LED lighting market. HIKARI is an Italian company producing lighting fixtures that projects its gaze towards the future, providing integrated design solutions with a very high quality of light to its customers.

2006 Foundation

HIKARI was born in the heart of Verona in the historic headquarters in Via Macello.

2008 Expansion

The company develops a series of LED systems in the refrigeration sector.

2010 Network

It joins LUCE IN VENETO, the first network of regional lighting producers.

2012 Comfort

HIKARI creates the first applications with RGB LED diodes for chromotherapy.

2014 Interior Design

The first LED spot suitable for use in kitchen hoods is created.

2016 Outdoor

The R&D department develops the first integrated lighting system for pergolas.

2020 Dynamic light

HIKARI carries out important projects in the dynamic light sector.

2023 Aida 100°

HIKARI takes care of the execution of the “AIDA 100” lighting project for the Arena di Verona Foundation.

1800 Pila di Volta

Alessandro Volta invents the battery, the first device capable of generating continuous electricity, which will pave the way for electric lighting.

1879 Incandescent lamp

Thomas Edison (and almost simultaneously Joseph Swan) perfected the incandescent light bulb, a device that would become the symbol of modern lighting.

XIX° SEC

1938 Fluorescent lamp

The first fluorescent lamp is marketed, offering greater energy efficiency than incandescent lamps.

1978 Led Blu

Shuji Nakamura develops the first high-efficiency blue LED. This development is crucial to the development of white light, which arrived in 1993.

XXI° SEC

2014 Nobel Prize for Physics

Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano and Shuji Nakamura receive the Nobel Prize in Physics for the invention of efficient blue LEDs.

2010-2020 Intelligent and integrated LEDs
